There was also a question about whether the event was value for money, 96% said it was.

In addition to these questions there was an opportunity to suggest improvements, venues for future nationals and a request for any other comments or suggestions.  A wide range of comments were made and we will consider all of these when planning future events….but bear in mind that some were contradictory.  There were themes about:

  1. Having a shorter format for the event – either fewer days or having a lay day during the week.  We have booked a 4 day event for 2019 in Weymouth so it will be interesting to see how that works.
  2. Launching and recovery issues at Torbay, with a preference for us to favour venues where launching is from a beach.
  3. Lots of people wanting to go to Hayling (booked for next year), Mounts Bay (we’re trying),  North Berwick (2020) and Brightlingsea.
