Broadwater S.C opened the series. Unfortunately, to date there are no results or report posted.

The Southern Area Championship was this year moved to Felpham Y.C. and the 25 sailors were treated to some fantastic, albeit exhausting racing.

Day one of the event provided enough breeze and wave action to keep everyone, including the rescue team busy. Andy Davis held off Martin Frary for the win and is already the strong favourite to secure the North Sails Super Series for the third year running. Solo newcomer Richard Lovering finished third, just ahead of local boy Guy Magyar, who wrote a fantastic report with photos supplied by Bill Brooks.

Bough Beech S.C attracted 24 entries with Steve Ede taking the win, his 1-1-2-3 pipping Tim Lewis, 1-1-3-5 and Jarvis Simpson. It is always tight racing at Bough Beech and with a nice force 4 must have been great fun for everyone.

Chichester Y.C. was unfortunately blighted with light winds which also varied substantially in direction. Ironically, the previous 5 days had been wall to wall sunshine and fresh winds from the south. Fraser Hayden mastered the conditions for the win ahead of Andrew Boyce and Patrick Fell, a 1-2-3 for Papercourt S.C., well done and great effort.

Next up is a double header, Dell Quay Y.C. and Porchester Y.C. June 10-11, Both offer some superb sailing and the challenge of sea sailing should set you up nicely for the National Championships in July.
