Who Builds Solos

Winder Boats
With a choice of two different hull shapes, each built to the same exceptional standard we are continually developing our build technique to ensure our customers get the best.
Recent developments include an improved deck/floor moulding which means no join and as such, no weak point or leaking.
The difference between the two hulls comes down to your weight, where and/or how you sail but put simply they are as follows;
Mark 1; Maximum waterline length, minimum rocker and minimum beam Suits open water Lighter sailor (up to 85kg)
Mark 2 More rocker, a fuller bow and more V in the hull Suits inland water as it tacks quicker and is more forgiving Carries more weight

As the class moves forward, the vast knowledge & experience of the P&B team keeps our package on the pace.

An innovative design that pushes the limits of Solo construction, our hull is engineered to perform exceptionally well for sailors of all skill levels, sizes, and shapes. There’s no compromise in performance—our design focuses on speed, stability, and responsiveness to give sailors an edge on the water.
The hull features a narrow bow and waterline, allowing for a sleek, efficient glide through the water. A flat transom enhances control, while the centreboard case is set at the minimum height to reduce excess weight and optimize balance. The thwart has been carefully designed with a downward curve to the lowest possible height, ensuring a comfortable and practical layout. To further enhance stability, weight has been strategically moved to the centre, while the rear side decks slope outward to effectively shed water and keep the cockpit drier.
All of our complete Solo boats come ready to sail with a fully fitted hull, foils from DEM, a rudder and tiller assembly, a mast, and a full Allen fit-out with spliced ropes by Robline. The only thing not included in the complete boat package is the sail.

The majority of hulls are built by Winder but there are other builders, at time of writing these include Ginger Boats,Synergy Marine, Goat Marine and Paul Dijkstra Composites BV also build Solos. If interested in these please speak directly to the builders.
