I seem unable to pay the entry fee using standard Natwest Debit card. Anyone else had this issue or is there something I'm missing? I've bought stuff from Italy this year and paid no problem with said card. It's the 'Racing Rules of Sailing' registration /pay fee bit I'm using. It has recognised my registration and confirmed on e-mail. Just refuses my card (numbers are all correct and valid) saying requires authentication.
Any pointers appreciated, thanks all.
Thanks Guy
I think I've got to the bottom of the issue. The 'Racing Rules of Sailing' are using the intermediary payment system Stripe and this can be configured to use Credit and Debit cards or just one of the two, in this case only Credit cards. I do not have a Credit card (never had one) but got partner to use hers and it worked.
How you ask questions of the RRofS I do not quite know but a bit annoying that confirmation of this cannot be verified.
I received confirmatory e-mails etc no problem. Will take all documents printed out for the trip as had to produce the lot before now in Austria on way to Garda a long time ago!.
Went down to bank and sorted transfer to her and also 'Guest' ticket to the Sailing Club (Events etc) as per the NOR bumff via transfer to their bank account. No problem with that. Their details are in the NOR.
I could bank online but my phone is 2G well 3G too but that's gone (PC is high end), but I don't so a bit odd maybe but so far most things work out OK.
Hoping the water of Lake Como is a bit warmer than the East Lothian sea.... which has been sampled!
Hi Tim, Sadly, I'm not able to go to Como this year but I'm aware others have found the website tricky, though all have got entered in the end. Regarding the card, do you have to give authentication via your banking app on your phone? Just a thought. Apologies, I've only just seen this. Guy
