Hi, I am having problems with my mainsail hoist. It goes up the mast fine (Selden D) but reaches a "soft" stop with significant resistance at the end such that it is difficult to put the loop over the tooth to maintain it elevated. I have changed the halyard, checked the sheave at the top of the mast, power washed the top of the mast to remove any internal debris, had the sail looked at by the sailmaker, and used silicone spray on the luff but all to no avail.
Many thanks,
Joe Keenan.
turn the boat on its side and pull the sail by hand , you then can fell where its sticking ,
work your way down mast untill you fell the tight spot , on sail
