Kicker, first race of the season.

Hi All, I took my Solo for her first race out on Sunday.

The kicker broke on me when I was catching up to someone. Looking at my kicker setup the D shackle lost the pin and bent the shackle. I have a spare one that fits, but I was wondering what type of set up for kickers do you all have? (after someone at the club said that all solo's seem to have different kicker),

3 mm dyneema. cut to length with a knife and sealed with a lighter. About ten times more breaking strain than needed but of a diameter to be comfortable to handle. There are lots of videos showung skilled people with fids making eye splices- knots are fine!
