Alternate Positioning of Correctors

Thursday, January 4, 2018

Following conversation with RYA tech, the wording explaining alternate positioning of correctors has been tweaked. The inclusion of "underside" ensures that fitting correctors to the floor "under the thwart' would be illegal.

  1. D.9.4  HULL CORRECTOR WEIGHTS

    (a) Corrector weights of any material shall be permanently fastened to the aftermost end of the centreboard case or to the underside of the centre thwart, or a combination of both locations, when the hull weight is less than the minimum requirement.

    (b) Total weight of corrector weights ................................................................................................... ............. 3kg

Correctors can be fitted to the underside of the centreboard capping as long as they are  in line with the centre thwart.

Repositioning of correctors to under the centre thwart or a combination of both requires re-certification.

Send certificate and remittance to RYA with a note explaining new position and weight of each corrector and receive updated certificate.
