A big shout out to our main sponsor Allen for the forthcoming Midland Area Series.
Allen have again provided some fantastic prizes for each event in what I hope will be another great year for the Solo class.
This year we have vouchers to redeem on whatever you want on their website, lower mast mount wind indicators, gloves and t-shirts to give away. I’m keeping the same format as last year with the first three podium prizes being awarded, and spot prizes on the day for the rest of the fleet. With a mixture of vouchers and kit the monetary value works out at: 1st place = £47 2nd place = £35 3rd place = £20 Spot prizes = £20 Top five prizes for both Midland Area Champs and overall series, with glass trophies.
Allen has certainly done us proud again and shown great support at regional and national level. We also have CB Boat Trailer and Cover Store, the name keeps getting bigger Chris, and Jackson Composite Repairs who have kindly donated prizes which will be raffled at the end of the season for qualifiers.
All of the clubs holding an event this year have been enthusiastic in their communications so I have no doubt it will another cracking season.
My posts are not as frequent as I’d like, and are usually of the more protracted variety, so I won’t disappoint this time either.
A reminder that the Demo boat is available to book and arrange to have at your sailing clubs for a number of weeks to encourage others into the fleet. The Solo Association have stumped up quite a bit of cash for those so it would be great to make use of them.
It’s available to book from mid-May onwards, just in time for the weather to improve….hopefully.
Which also leads me to a reminder for all Solo sailors to join the Solo Association, it’s here to support and encourage all members in whatever age boat you have.
