This year we have the NSCA Western Championships at Plymouth Mountbatten Watersports & Activities Centre on 8/9 June. We believe the first time back here since we believe the Solo Worlds many years ago, and as some competing today competed then I will not say how many years.
The event is held in conjunction with the Port of Plymouth Dinghy Weekend, click here, with the Solo class having our own start.
Click here for the Solo entry page.
The entry fee includes the BBQ on Saturday evening, open to all classes etc. Competitors will be contacted prior to the event to establish if they want to attend the BBQ.
In addition the NSCA is providing further support for Solo competitors, likely drinks to help wash down the BBQ on Saturday evening.
Competitors for the Western Championships will also be competing for the overall PPSA Plymouth Dinghy Regatta 2024 awards, so our winner might walk off with more than anticipated.
The NOR are on the site, and Sis to be published later. Click Here
This event can count as your best regional result towards the NSCA Super Series for NSCA Members only.
This is a departure from our normal routine of alternating between Chew Valley and Salcombe, but important as the NSCA Nigel Pusinelli is here in 2025 and the NSCA Nationals in 2026 (a very important year for anniversaries), so a great event to familiarise yourself with one of our top venues.
With Dittisham, Salcombe and Torpoint very near this venue we are expecting a large turnout of travellers.
The venue has limited accommodation as detailed in the attached document.
There are a limited number of rooms dedicated to Solo entrants, so book early if needed. Alternatively, there are many hotels etc in Plymouth. There is likely to be space for camper vans but this needs to be confirmed later based on how much space is required to accommodate the boats. Contact the centre for more details. There is a pdf atachement below detailing the venue and accomodation available.
The event is of course sponsored by our series sponsors Goat Marine and Dinghy Shack, both of which are very local to this event.
You could even make a full week of your trip as the Torpoint Mosquito Open is on the 1st June and a short ferry trip across the Tamar. We are also looking to add a training day on Friday 7th June, but this is still to be confirmed.
Get your entry in and look forward to seeing you there.
