The National Solo class is super excited to welcome visitors to our stand (350, opposite the interactive area) at this weekends RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre.
This year we have two very interesting boats on the stand.
Oliver Davenport has kindly loaned us his multi-event and Super Series winning boat, 6110, for the weekend. Olly sailed a very consistent 2024 (and 2023) and was rarely outside of the top 3 in any event he competed in, something which is very hard to do in the extremely competitive Solo fleet.
Bucking the trend of recent years, Olly sails a Winder Mk1a with a SuperSpar M2 rig and P&B Solo Maxx mainsail. Get a close up look of his control systems and boat layout. For most of 2024 we only saw his transom!

The second boat on the stand is the much awaited Paul Davis build, out of the previous SP Boats mould based on the renowned Lovett. Paul has put in some great thought into this build and we can’t wait to see the finished product. This promises to be one of the most tricked out Solos for many years with some innovative ideas and subtle changes to the standard fit-out. Paul will be on hand all weekend to discuss all aspects of his new ship which also sports a SuperSpar rig with an Impact Marine sail. It’s sure to draw the attention of all Soloists.

With over 70 open meeting and championship events scheduled for the 2025 season, the Solo class probably offers more racing opportunities than any other class in the UK with the chance to race again multiple champions who continue to return to the fleet for the high quality racing.

As usual, class committee members will be on hand to offer up help with all matters Solo, whether you’re a front of the fleet hero, weekend warrior and interested in joining the class, maybe via the use of one of the class demo boats. Look forward to seeing you there! Guy Mayger (class President)
